Hi Indiana HOSA! My name is Riya Chinni and I am honored to serve as your 2019-2020 President-Elect. I am a senior at Carmel High School where I delved into the world of medicine with our Project Lead The Way courses, of which I am taking the fourth and final one this year. Upon finding HOSA, I realized how much I loved being around others who are as passionate about healthcare as I am. I plan to follow my passion for healthcare and pursue a career in cardiothoracic surgery. Regardless of my role in the healthcare field, I want to become a positive force of nature in our world. A quote that I hold close to my heart is one from American activist Harriet Tubman, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” As a state officer I cannot wait to share with others how HOSA is a catalyst for positive change and self-discovery. I want to inspire our members to follow their passions and become the best versions of themselves.
