How to Balance Work, School and Physical Activities
Someone once said, “Nobody is ever too busy. If they care, they will make time”. We have all heard people say they are too busy to do this or too busy to do that, but there are 24 hours in the day to complete all the tasks you need to have done. Here are some tips on how to balance work, school, and physical activities. The question is, are you willing to sacrifice certain things in order to be more productive?
To begin, write down a schedule for yourself and what would work best for you. For example, I realized that rather than working out as soon as I got off of work was not the best idea since I would not get home until 10 p.m., so I started to wake up at 5 a.m. and got my workout done earlier than before. Your schedule is going to be different than someone else’s because some people do things in their own unique way. Next, use whatever time you have available to study. In order to balance these three things, we can begin with minimizing the usage of your phone. The amount of time that we spend looking at our phones on a daily basis is astonishing. We never seem to have time to study, but we somehow have time to watch that one Netflix show. If you want to become more productive, put down the phone and start studying. You can reward yourself with phone usage after spending 30 minutes studying.
Most importantly, you have to be willing to either lose sleep or cut back on work. Doing all three of these activities can be difficult, especially if you have to work in order to pay certain bills or food. Although, if you find yourself lacking so much sleep that you can not stay up during your classes, cut back on some work hours. If you are not willing to cut back on work, and if your grades are still the best they can be, then I would suggest drinking coffee to help.
All in all, not many people can balance all three so props to you! Just remember school always comes first. If you are losing sleep because you are working too much or working out late at night, cut back on one of those two rather than giving up on school. Like stated before, no matter how busy you are, there will always be time you just have to discover what works best for you. Whether it is does two of these things or all three, you can balance them out if you plan a schedule and limit your usage on your phone.
